All supporting documents and registration certificates making up a SIV file are subject to regulations and must be kept to guarantee their integrity, durability, compliance and security for a minimum period of 5 years from the date of application for registration. Automotive professionals are required to keep the documents in the SIV files and must prove that they have the material capacity to archive them securely.
For digitised documents, they must have a digital safe that complies with the NF Z42-020 standard to securely archive the documents relating to registration applications and make it accessible to the relevant authorities to facilitate checks. Possession of this electronic safe is a mandatory prerequisite for access to check authorisation.
